Africa-PressTanzania. EVERYTHING is in place as Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) picks its leaders in a general election due today at Tanga Resort Hotel.

Speaking here ahead of the today’s polls, the federation’s Chairman of Election Committee, advocate Kiomoni Kibamba said everything is on place and all preparations are complete for the today’s general election.

“We are ready to conduct the polls as everything here is in place and all members and candidates for the posts have already arrived here,” said Kibamba, who also serves as Nzega District Development Director.

He said according to the TFF constitution the only positions to be contested in the pools are members of the executive committee, but the position of the TFF President whose sole candidate is Wallace Karia, won’t be voted but as he will get his approval in the general meeting.

He said the candidates vying for the executive committee’s membership come from five zones. The first zone consists of Dar es Salaam, Lindi, Morogoro, Mtwara and Coast regions and its candidates are Athuman Kambi, Lameck Nyambaya and Hosseah Lugano.

The second zone consists of Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Manyara and Tanga whose candidates are Khalid Abdallah and Zakayo Mjema.

The third zone involving Iringa, Mbeya, Njombe, Ruvuma and Songwe regions, consists of Abousufian Sillia, James Mhagama and Mohammed Mashango.

The fourth zone has drawn together Dodoma, Shinyanga, Simiyu and Singida regions and its candidates are Hamis Kitila, Mohammed Aden and Osuri Kosuri .

The fifth zone consists of Geita, Kagera, Mara and Mwanza regions. The candidates from it are Salum Chama, Vedastus Lufano and Salum Alli.

The sixth zone consisting of Rukwa, Tabora, Kigoma and Katavi regions is being contested by Blassy Kiondo, Issa Mrisho and Kenneth Pesambili.

The 87th member of the election was supposed to come from Tanzania Women Football Association (TWFA) which didn’t get its representative.
