THE Deputy Minister in the President’s Office for Regional Administration and Local Government (TAMISEMI), Festo Dugange, has stated that the construction of vocational secondary schools across the country is being implemented in phases, with 75 schools currently at various stages of development, including the Manchimuero Vocational Secondary School in Bunda District, Mara Region.
He explained that the government has allocated 584.28m/- for the construction of each school. The infrastructure includes classrooms, an administration block, a library, laboratories, an ICT (computer) room, a teacher’s house, toilet facilities, an incinerator, and an underground water tank for rainwater harvesting.
Dr Dugange made the remarks on April 13, 2026, while responding to a question from Bunda Member of Parliament, Boniphace Getere, who sought clarification on when funds would be allocated for the construction of the Manchimuero Vocational Secondary School.
He further noted that the government will continue allocating funds in phases to complete infrastructure for all 75 ongoing vocational schools, including Manchimuero, as part of a broader strategy to strengthen technical education and enhance skills development among youth in Tanzania.
