Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, has emphasized the importance of establishing solid and sustainable strategies for cooperation between African and Nordic countries.
Speaking to various delegates attending the 22nd Meeting of Foreign Ministers between African and Nordic countries in Zimbabwe, the minister stressed that the cooperation must bring about tangible results to citizens of both sides.
Additionally, Minister Kombo noted that the meeting is an important opportunity to strengthen diplomatic, economic, and social relations, while also promoting trade, investment, technology, and clean energy.
Elaborating, he said that the cooperation should not remain on paper alone but those involved should ensure that they make practical use of the opportunities available by delivering direct benefits to people.
The minister reiterated Tanzania’s readiness to work with Nordic countries in advancing strategic projects with quick and visible impact.
For her part, Tanzania’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe, CP Suzan Kaganda, urged participants to use the meeting as a platform to strengthen economic diplomacy through sectors such as trade, investment, tourism, agriculture, education, and security.
Also, Tanzania’s Ambassador to Sweden, Mobhare Matinyi outlined the opportunities available in Tanzania for business and investment cooperation with Nordic countries.
Moreover, the Acting Director of the Department of Europe and the Americas at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Seifu Kamtunda, noted that the meeting will discuss key themes aimed at strengthening Africa–Nordic relations, alongside a business forum that will bring together entrepreneurs, the private sector, young innovators, and academic institutions.
