Tanzania Lands Ministry Proposes 164bn/- Budget

Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development has submitted a request to the Parliament for the approval of a 164.14bn/- budget for the 2025/26 financial year.

The Minister for Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development, Deogratius Ndejembi, presented the request today, Thursday, May 29, 2025, in Dodoma during the tabling of the ministry’s revenue and expenditure estimates for the upcoming fiscal year.

In the proposed budget, the ministry has outlined several key priorities to be implemented. These include accelerating the planning, surveying, titling, and registration of land in urban, rural, and strategic areas.

Other priorities include strengthening ICT systems for record management, service delivery, revenue collection, and access to land and valuation information. The ministry also plans to enhance mechanisms for resolving land disputes administratively and through the District Land and Housing Tribunals.

Additionally, the budget aims to ensure access to adequate housing, promote the real estate sector and settlement development, strengthen international borders and border towns, and improve access to maps for national planning and other uses.

The ministry also plans to reinforce monitoring and evaluation systems during the 2025/26 fiscal year to ensure the effective implementation of these priorities.
