Africa-Press – Tanzania. PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa has highlighted Tanzania’s improved investment climate and abundant opportunities for foreign investors, describing Japan as a key economic partner in the country’s development agenda.

Speaking today., May 26,2025 during the official opening of the Tanzania-Japan Business, Investment, and Tourism Forum in Osaka, Majaliwa said the government has taken deliberate steps to simplify business registration processes and open up critical sectors such as agriculture, tourism, health, industry, and energy to international investors.

“As Tanzania, we have explained that we’ve made it easier to establish companies in our country by streamlining form-filling procedures and providing clear business guidelines. We’ve opened doors across all key sectors, and we welcome foreign investors to take advantage of these opportunities,” he said.

The forum, which brought together Tanzanian and Japanese business leaders, is part of Tanzania’s broader participation in the upcoming World Expo Osaka 2025.

Majaliwa said the event aims to strengthen economic ties and foster new partnerships between the two countries.

He also noted the presence of the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) and the Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (ZIPA) at the Expo, saying both institutions are actively engaging with Japanese companies interested in entering the Tanzanian market.

“This forum provides a platform for business leaders from both nations to share experiences, explore areas of collaboration, and identify investment opportunities,” he added.

He added, “It’s our third such engagement, and each time we build on our growing partnership. Trade between Tanzania and Japan has increased, and we are now seeing tangible benefits, especially in agriculture, energy, and industrial development.”

The Prime Minister commended the leadership of Tanzania and Zanzibar for creating an enabling environment for investors, emphasizing that continued reforms have paved the way for growth in the investment sector.

He further affirmed the government’s commitment to connecting Tanzanian entrepreneurs with international markets, including Japan, to ensure they benefit from global trade and investment prospects.
