Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Tanzania Airports Authority (TAA) has announced that it is committed to improving infrastructure at its airports to create a more user-friendly environment, enhance air transport services, and boost national efficiency.
Speaking today in Dar es Salaam during the launch of the Air Safety Culture Week running from today until November 28, TAA Director General Abdul Mombokaleo said that various construction and improvement projects are underway at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) to enhance performance.
Mombokaleo explained that the infrastructure improvements go hand-in-hand with strengthening aviation safety, noting that every expansion of infrastructure must be matched with increased safety measures.
“I would like to take this opportunity to urge passengers, service providers, contractors, employees of all institutions operating within the airport, and stakeholders in the aviation sector to actively participate in these commemorations. Take part in exhibitions, ask questions, share ideas, and provide suggestions. Don’t just attend, make a meaningful contribution,” he said.
For her part, the Director of Julius Nyerere International Airport, Bertha Bankwa, stated that the main objective of the safety week is to shift mindsets regarding aviation safety, increase participation from everyone passengers, stakeholders, and institutions, and reduce risks posed by internal threats.
