Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIA and Qatar are set to deepen cooperation in sports, tourism, culture, and investment following high-level talks in Dar es Salaam.
This was reached in a key meeting that took place at the Qatar Embassy in Dar es Salaam between Qatari Ambassador Ahmed Abdulla Al-Dossari and Tanzania’s Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Paul Makonda.
During their discussion, Minister Makonda expressed the government’s gratitude for the strong bilateral relationship, highlighting the positive outcomes in development, investment, and strategic diplomacy.
Additionally, Mr Makonda presented Tanzania’s preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, emphasizing investment opportunities in Arusha’s hotel infrastructure, football stadium upgrades, and the broader tourism sector.

He stressed the importance of leveraging Qatar’s expertise from hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup, a globally recognized event known for its world-class infrastructure, management, and economic impact on the sports sector.
Ambassador Al-Dossari confirmed Qatar’s commitment to strengthening the partnership through experience-sharing, facilitating official visits, and following up on proposed initiatives.
Both sides agreed to accelerate formal agreements and advance joint projects aimed at boosting sports, culture, tourism, and investment, enhancing strategic and economic value for both nations.
