Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Jenifa Omolo, has hailed the Tanzanian accounting and auditing professionals and urged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct in line with international practices.

Speaking at the 47th convocation of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) in Dar es Salaam, Omolo underscored that adherence to ethical principles and legal frameworks is key to strengthening transparency and good governance, not only within Tanzania but also across global financial systems.

“Tanzania’s accountants and auditors must position themselves as custodians of integrity and accountability, ensuring that their work reflects international benchmarks,” she said, noting that the country’s professionals are already recognized for meeting global auditing standards applied in Asia, Europe, the United States, and across Africa.

NBAA Board Chairperson, Prof. Sylvia Temu, reinforced this call, stressing that the board would take stern measures against practitioners who violate professional guidelines, as ethical compliance remains central to the credibility of the profession worldwide.

Graduates of the programme, such as CPA Vaileth Victus and CPA Jafar Ogaga, expressed their commitment to applying their expertise in advancing financial integrity, emphasizing their readiness to align with both national regulations and international best practices.

Tanzania continues to be acknowledged as one of the African countries producing highly skilled accounting professionals who contribute to global markets and are well-equipped to serve in diverse international financial environments.
