Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIA has called upon nations to involve women when addressing key issues and disputes that can threaten peace to create a peaceful world.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, made the call when speaking during the Third International Conference on Women, Peace and Security in Prishtina, Kosovo, noting that it is vital to involve women and youth in peace processes for a peaceful and stable.

“In this present world of science and technology, women play a significant and essential role in peace and security matters, from the family level to the international level, as they are often the primary victims of conflict and caretakers of families, especially when peace is disrupted,” he noted.

According to the minister, most conflicts are caused by tribalism, racism, political and religious extremism, and disputes over natural resources and borders.

Additionally, Minister Kombo asked the international community to collaborate with various countries to provide adequate education on the importance of global peace.

Furthermore, Mr Kombo informed the various conference participants that Tanzania has continued to prioritize peace and security by actively participating in peaceful conflict resolution efforts both regionally and globally.

“And this is one of the main reasons why Tanzania is recognized as a peaceful country,” he said.
