Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE body of Joshua Mollel, a young Tanzanian who died in Israel, allegedly taken hostage by by Hamas fighters on October 7, 2023, has been honoured and laid to rest in Orkesumet village, Simanjiro District in Manyara Region.
The body was received in the country on November 19, 2025, by the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Said Shaib Mussa, together with Ambassador Silima Haji Kombo.
Various government leaders, religious leaders from different denominations, and citizens from different areas gathered to pay their last respects to the late Joshua.
In his eulogy, Joshua was described as a young man with many admirable qualities, including professionalism, humility, and discipline, traits that made him loved by many.
