Africa-Press – Tanzania. TWENTY-FIVE regions of Tanzania have already been visited by a team of lawyers from Mama Samia Legal Aid campaign, the Minister for Constitution and Legal Affairs, Dr. Damas Ndumbaro, announced in Dodoma today.
Until today, April 30, only six regions remain as the law experts from Mama Samia Legal Aid continue to solve many disputes with land and marital cases being the front runners.
Mr Ndumbaro assured Tanzanians that his ministry will continue to coordinate and implement the Mama Samia Legal Aid Campaign to provide legal education and services to the public.
“So far, the campaign has been conducted in 25 regions of Mainland Tanzania and is expected to conclude in Dar es Salaam,” he said.
Speaking in Parliament today, Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in Dodoma while presenting the ministry’s budget for the 2025/2026 financial year, Dr. Ndumbaro stated that the campaign will continue until June this year. At that time, Dar es Salaam Region will officially launch its participation, marking the completion of the campaign in all mainland regions.
Regarding Zanzibar, Dr. Ndumbaro explained that the campaign has already been implemented in the regions of North Pemba, Urban West, and North Unguja. Implementation is currently ongoing in the regions of South Pemba and South Unguja.
The Mama Samia Legal Aid Campaign is designed to reach citizens across Tanzania, empowering them with legal knowledge and access to justice. The campaign is expected to be completed in Zanzibar by May this year.
