Tanzania’s planning ministry nets 664bn/- quarterly revenue

Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Tanzanian government, through the President’s Office – Planning and Investment, has until March this year, collected 664.53bn/-, representing 86 percent of the target for the period.

The initial target was to collect 768.58bn/-. This amount represents 60 percent of the annual revenue target.

The report was released today, April 24, 2025, by the Minister of the President’s Office – Planning and Investment, Professor Kitila Mkumbo, while presenting the ministry’s budget proposals to Parliament in Dodoma. Minister Mkumbo noted that a significant portion of the remaining revenue is expected to be collected during the fourth quarter of the 2024/2025 financial year.

Expounding further, Prof. Mkumbo stated that this achievement is largely attributed to the strengthening of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems, particularly the integration of the Planning and Budgeting System (PlanRep) with ERMS and e-Watumishi systems, along with improvements to the MUSE system.

“These enhancements have enabled access to accurate financial data from public institutions and organizations, thereby increasing transparency and accountability in the management of public funds,” said Prof. Mkumbo.
