Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) has officially announced that its Annual General Assembly (AGA) will be held on April 11 this year in Dar es Salaam.
According to a notice issued by Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Hamisi Abdallah, the meeting is scheduled to take place from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Four Points by Sheraton Dar es Salaam New Africa.
The association emphasised that attendance is mandatory for all affiliated clubs, in accordance with its constitution. Each member club is required to submit the names of two delegates who will attend, to facilitate proper logistical arrangements.
Abdallah said the AGA will address several key agenda items, including the confirmation of minutes from the previous assembly held on March 29, 2025, as well as the presentation of the chairman’s and CEO’s reports for 2025.
Members will also review and adopt the association’s draft financial statements for the same period. In addition, clubs will have the opportunity to submit proposals, provided they are presented in writing to the chairperson at least 14 days before the meeting. Any other business may be discussed with the permission of the chair.
Abdallah reiterated the importance of active member participation, noting that the AGA remains a crucial platform for shaping the future of cricket development in Tanzania. Meanwhile, Tanzania’s cricket continues to make positive strides on the international stage.
The national men’s team recently secured qualification for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2028 Regional Qualifiers after a dominant, unbeaten performance at the Africa Sub-Regional Qualifier B tournament held in Ghana.
The team topped the standings by winning all their matches, demonstrating consistency, unity and strong belief throughout the competition an important step in their journey toward the 2028 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
