Africa-Press – Tanzania. President Samia Suluhu Hassan has again applauded the National Amputee Football team players for sailing through World Cup finals expected to be played in Turkey, next year.
Speaking at the State House in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday, President Samia said the Tembo Warriors’ qualification was proof that everyone can do great things and contribute to the country’s development regardless of their physical conditions.
The President invited the Amputee team at the State House to congratulate the team which qualified for the world cup championship.
The Head of State said that the government’s intention is to create a conducive environment to ensure that nobody is left behind in development be disabled people or abled people.
“You have done a great job …you have written history in our country. The World Cup is the World Cup, whatever game it is so long as it is the world cup is a world cup… you have written a history, no one has ever been there,” President said.
In addition President Samia called upon the Amputee Football team players to get prepared for the tournament and tasked the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Sports to invest in the World Cup finals by supporting the team financially.
