TFF urges trainees to take CAF course seriously

Africa-PressTanzania. THE participants of the ongoing three-month CAF C Diploma coaching course in Dodoma have been encouraged to take the lessons seriously in order to make big impact afterwards.

This was said by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Technical Director Oscar Milambo when he opened the training over the weekend saying coaches are key to facilitate development of football in the country.

“As the federation, we want to make Tanzania great in both male and female football but that cannot be achieved if we do not have competitive coaches who are at the center stage to take us to the Promised Land.

“The federation’s vision is to ensure that our teams compete and do well in all international games so as to get the reputation we want but, that can be easier if we have quality coaches responsible to impart required skills to the players,” he said.

He added that throughout the training period, participants will be subjected to theory and internship sessions whereby with the latter, they will be required to apply the attained skills at a club of their choice within Dodoma.

“We have decided to stretch the training period to three months than previously in order to give the trainees enough time to learn and grasp the imparted knowledge,” he said.

Moreover, Milambo reiterated that the federation will continue to invest a lot in nurturing coaches hence they will not rest until a cream of quality and competitive trainers are found.

“When we have good coaches, it will give us assurance to groom talented young players who will be able to fly high the country flag in the future,” he noted.

On his part, one of the trainees Ahidi Sinene thanked TFF for giving them such opportunity to upgrade their coaching skills and insisted that they are ready to learn.

“We have heard your concern that we should not keep the certificate and knowledge we acquire under the carpet but rather we should thrive to apply it on the field,” he said.

His colleague Fatma Omary also disclosed that they will fully use on the ground whatever skills they are to adapt from the underway three months training program in order to play a part of promoting football standards in the country.

Recently, TFF paraded a football philosophy ready to be distributed to academies and sports centers in the country so as create uniformity to the upcoming stars.

“We have many academies and football centers but each of them has got a unique coaching formula imparted to the young players something which create problems when they mature because what they learnt before is not what they encounter at senior level.

“Every player who is being developed from academy or youth center has got dreams to reach far in his career like playing for the national team because it is the highest level.

“Our target is that when they reach that level of being picked to play in the senior team, they should all have the same quality gained from the respective academies they were before,” said Milambo when he briefed the public about the philosophy.
