Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIA Forest Service (TFS) expects to plant 1,000 tree seedlings at Endaswold Primary School and 100 seedlings in the Hanang District Sub-State House area by January 27, 2026.

The Chief Conservator of Mount Hanang, Abubakar Mpapa said the move is a plan to celebrate the birthday of the President Samia Suluhu Hassan, and a special plan to continue making the district green.

TFS explained that the plan is in line with national environmental conservation policies and President Samia’s vision of a green Tanzania, with forest resources protected and used productively for the benefit of current and future generations.

In addition, TFS, in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for Hanang, Asia Halamga, has planted 350 fruit and shade tree seedlings at Chief Sarja Secondary School as part of enhancing the green environment and promoting good nutrition for the community.

The exercise brought together various government leaders, students of the school, and citizens, and demonstrated the sincere solidarity between public leadership and citizens in protecting the environment and improving social welfare through tree planting that focuses on the benefits of nutrition and shade.

Speaking during the exercise, Halamga stressed the importance of community participation in the fight against environmental degradation, explaining that planting fruit trees is a strategy that directly contributes to the health and income of citizens in parallel with environmental conservation.

The district’s theme for the campaign has been: “Patriotism is Caring for the Environment, Participate in Planting Trees.”
