Africa-Press – Tanzania. Tottenham Hotspur’s manager confirmed on Wednesday that James Maddison has picked up a calf strain and will be out of action for two to three weeks.
“Madders has got a calf strain,” Ange Postecoglou said. “So he is probably two or three weeks (out) for us.”
Maddison missed Sunday’s Premier League match against Leicester City due to reported soreness following Tottenham’s victory over Hoffenheim in the UEFA Europa League.
The Spurs are currently dealing with an injury crisis, and a number of players have been sidelined.
Maddison joins Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Wilson Odobert, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner, and Dominic Solanke on the injury list.
Antonin Kinsky, Sergio Reguilon, Djed Spence and Yang-Min Hyeok are also ineligible for the game with the Europa League clash with Elfsborg on Thursday.
The 28-year-old midfielder has also played for Leicester City, winning the 2021 English FA Cup and the 2022 English Super Cup.
