Africa-PressTanzania. TANZANIA Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) has called on the Tanzania Posts Corporation (TPC) to continue providing quality universal postal services in rural areas to meet public expectations and the government target.

TCRA Head of Quality Management Unit (Posts services) Mr Haruni Lemanya said there is a pressing need to raise public awareness about the services provided by the Corporation in order to attain the intended objectives.

He said that through technological advancement the Corporation should ensure that goods are delivered to their customers at the right time, a move that will boost the post business and increase the number of clients.

Mr Lemanya identified some areas which need improvement in order to improve service delivery, including capacity building to workers to increase efficiency and productivity to meet public expectations.

According to him, TCRA as a regulator is responsible for monitoring the quality of services by ensuring that all cargo or parcels reach the customers on time.

On her part, Universal Communication Services Access Fund (UCSAF) Chief Executive Officer, Ms Justina Mashiba said that they will continue to work with TPC in implementing various projects in the community.

She also called on TPC to continue being innovative so as to reach majority of the citizens with communication services.

The Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) regulates the postal, broadcasting, and telecommunications industries in the country. The Authority ensures the efficiency of the sectors, and that they are accessible and technologically advanced.

Tanzania Posts Corporation was established to provide national postal services within the country and link to other countries worldwide.
