TPLB orders teams to renovate arenas

Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIA Premier League Board (TPLB) has advised teams featuring in the top flight league to renovate their arenas during this international break.

The Premier League matches have stopped until November 19th this year to pave the way for the FIFA fixture whereas Taifa Stars will host Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the World Cup qualifying match to be played at Benjamini Mkapa stadium.

In November 14th, Taifa Stars will face Madagascar in Antananarivo before the league resumes in November 19 whereas Ruvu Shooting will host defending champion Simba in CCM Kirumba, Mwanza and Yanga will travel to Lindi in November 20 to face Namungo.

According to a statement issued on Friday by TPLB Spokesman, Karim Boimanda, all Premier League clubs must renovate their grounds during this international break so as to make them ideal for the matches when the league resumes.

Boimanda said quality grounds is one of the conditions stipulated in club licensing regulation and therefore the TPLB reminds clubs to make sure they observe all regulations.

He identified the areas that need to be renovated as dressing rooms, pitches, fences that separate pitches and the fans, the areas for the technical bench officials, players and toilets.

“TPLB believes the teams will use this international break to repair their pitches in accordance to clubs licensing regulations so as make football enjoyable by both players and fans who pay for tickets to watch matches,” said Manda.

In addition to this, Manda reminded clubs to use time to make tactical improvement in their squads so as to make them competitive in the title race.
