Africa-Press – Tanzania. IT has been a bustling month in Tanzanian football, with top-flight clubs making major changes ahead of the upcoming season and regional competitions.
From new signings and contract renewals to coaching reshuffles, teams are preparing in earnest—with Namungo FC taking the lead in farewells.
Among the four clubs set to represent Tanzania in regional competitions, three have appointed new head coaches.
Singida Black Stars have brought in Argentine tactician Miguel Gamondi, Azam FC have unveiled Congolese coach Florent Ibengé and Young Africans have hired Frenchman Romain Folz.
Simba SC, meanwhile, have opted for continuity, retaining the services of Head Coach Fadlu Davids. On the transfer front, Young Africans SC have extended contracts for key players Mudathir Yahya and Pacôme Zouzoua.
They have also added fresh faces, including Abdulnassir Mohammed, Offen Chikola and Verratti Conte.
The club bid farewell to influential midfielder Stephane Aziz Ki, who completed a move to Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca last month.
Simba SC, on the other hand, have yet to officially announce any new signings.
However, the club has released several players, including Debora Fernandes, Kelvin Kijili, Augustine Okejepha, Hussein Kazi, Valentin Nouma, Aishi Manula, Fabrice Ngoma and Mohamed Hussein.
Simba’s Communications Manager, Ahmed Ally, confirmed that new signings have already been completed and will be announced soon. Azam FC have also been active in the market.
The club confirmed the departure of Gambian forward Gibril Sillah, who joined Algerian side ES Sétif on a two-year deal. New arrivals include Lameck Lawi, Muhsin Malima and Ali Chamulungu.
Notably, Azam have also re-signed goalkeeper Aishi Manula and midfielder Himid Mao.
Singida Black Stars have moved swiftly to secure the services of Kelvin Kijili and Andrew Simchimba, both previously with Geita Gold. Elsewhere, other top-tier sides have been involved in notable moves.
Tabora United confirmed the departure of Heritier Makambo. Namungo FC have renewed contracts for key players such as Geofrey Julius, Anthony Mlingo and Jonathan Nahimana, but have let go of a sizeable group of players, including Salehe Karabaka, Erasto Nyoni, Medie Kagere, Erick Molongi, Derick Mukombozi, Issa Abushehe, Joshua Ibrahim, Erick Kapaito, Anderson Solomoni and Emmanuel Charles.
