Africa-PressTanzania. TURKEY is extending its wings in Tanzania’s education sector as the Turkish Maarif Foundation opens four new schools in the Eastern African country.

This was revealed by Turkey’s Ambassador to Tanzania Mehmet Gulluoglu at a ceremony held in Dar es Salaam to honor the Asian-Europe state heroes who halted a section of soldiers’ plan to overthrow the Turkish government, five years ago.

Giving more details, the diplomat said the newly built education facilities are located in Zanzibar (2), Dar es Salaam (1) and Arusha (1) as he insisted: ‘’we will continue to build more schools.”

Turkey honours the heroes on 15th of July, every year.

In the 2016’s failed plot, a total of 250 people died while over 1,000 others were injured in the clash.

The failed plot occurred when Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was on holiday.

The commemoration, held at Turkish Maarif School at Boko on the outskirts of the City, was colored by songs and stage acting performance by students.

Also, a person who escaped death during the Turkish failed coup was present at the event and invited guests got an opportunity to hear from his horse’s mouth over the failed plot.

It was revealed at the event that the foundation is set to build another school in Tanzania’s Capital City of Dodoma whereby Tanzanian students will also get an opportunity to study in Turkey.
