Africa-Press – Tanzania. The Tanzania Music Awards (TMA) committee has extended the deadline for artists to register their works to this Sunday. That was revealed on Thursday during the committee members’ meeting in Dar es Salaam which insisted the artists to observe the deadline before it is closed tomorrow.
Tanzania’s National Arts Council (NSC) has announced April 29th this year as date when the Tanzania Music Awards gala will take place. “On April 29 this year, t its the official date that the award event will be held for this year’s edition,” said the official statement.
Tanzania Music Awards gala is the national music awards held annually in Tanzania. It has been going as the Kilimanjaro Music Awards or the Kili Music Awards for many years.
The awards were established in 1999 by the National Arts Council under the Tanzanian Ministry of Education and Culture. The National Arts Council, Instagram Page shows that the decisions will be based on the requests and opinions of many arts stakeholders.
The committee urges all artists to observe the committee’s decisions and make good use of the extended time to register their work as there will be no additional time for them.
In the last year’s awards, Bongo Flava star Alikiba emerged the overall winner of the night, after taking home five awards. The awards that the artists got include Album of the year, Video of the year, Best Artiste EA, Best Music composer and Best Artiste (People’s choice).
