Africa-Press – Tanzania. VODACOM Tanzania has launched a mobile shop service in Mwanza Region to bring their products closer to the people and encourage use of internet for communication so as to speed up development in the country.
The launch was held on Monday in Mwanza City with the attendance of many people at the unique event held by the mobile service provider in this country.
Mwanza Regional Commissioner Eng Robert Gabriel praised the mobile phone company to move to areas far away from cities so that Tanzanians can access it where they are not getting these services closer.
“I am asking even for the areas of our islands on Lake Victoria to reach them so that the people in those areas can enjoy this highly innovative network services closer to them,” said Eng Gabriel.
Director of Business and Marketing of Vodacom, Ms Linda Riwa said they are happy to be able to bring their customers the unique service of a walk-in store with all they need concerning Vodacom instead of waiting for customers to follow their services.
She said they will be able to reach people in various gatherings such as stalls in markets and other places that attract many people.
Ms Riwa said that some of the services that customers will get through the mobile wallet are sending and receiving money (MPESA), returning numbers, buying smart phones and returning transactions.
