Africa-Press – Tanzania. VICE- PRESIDENT Dr Philip Mpango has called upon believers and religious leaders to continue praying for the nation and its leaders to uphold the country’s peace and stability.

Dr Mpango made the appeal on Sunday shortly after attending the Holy Sunday Mass held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory Diocese of Kigoma accompanied by his wife Mbonimpaye Mpango.

Elaborating, he extended his appreciation to the parishioners, people of Kigoma and all Tanzanians in general who comforted him and family following the passing of his brother retired Anglican Church Bishop, the late Gerald Mpango.

“We are requesting for your prayers so as to maintain the peace and security of our nation for us to continue living peacefully while glorifying God,” said Dr Mpango.

He maintained that as the leaders of this nation, they are continuously praying for each and every person’s blessings.

In a related development, Dr Mpango applauded the Christian worshipers at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory Diocese of Kigoma for volunteering in finalising the construction of the church, which will be used by the present and future generation to worship God.

Equally, The VP carried out a fundraising amongst his subordinates who were present at the church managing to raise over 1.3m/- which he handed over to cater for the church’s development.
