Africa-Press – Tanzania. YARA fertilizer retailers have been implored to use the Yaraconnect Programme that allows them to win prizes from the bonus package and benefit from a wide range of educational information on the right application of fertilizers.
The call has been made by the Digital Solutions Manager for Yara, Deodath Mtei in Kasulu District Kigoma Region on Wednesday during a ceremony to award a motorcycle to one of the company’s retailers, Yothan Mbwila Tanditse from Mbwila Mbwila General Supplies, who succeeded in meeting terms and conditions for winning.
Mr Mtei said the YaraConnect programme was launched in July this year to provide support on agricultural expertise and best use of fertilisers produced by Yara, as such dealers get the chance to learn and to get answers to various questions concerning farming and fertilizer application.
“The YaraConnet package features video portion, where the dealer gets tips in text or video on epidemic plant diseases or any other agricultural problem that has surfaced and so be in a position to relay the information to farmers expeditiously,” he said.
He noted that the software contains a section through which the dealer can communicate directly with the customer care unit at Yara on any issue, like availability of Yara products, price or any other issue related to Yara implements in the market.
“Another notable development in the offing is a system that will enable farmers to locate various stores selling our implements that are close to them, so by signing up to YaraConnect network the retailer gets the chance to advertise their services within the target market free,” added Mtei.
To register with YaraConnect, Mtei noted, the dealer is required to download the app via smartphone via Google Play Store for Android version users and App Store for iPhone users, register their businesses and be on track to get bonus points entitling them to claim various prizes, including cash, mobile phones and motorcycles.
Speaking after receiving the re- wards, the winner, Yothan Mbwila Tanditse from Mbwila Mbwila General Supplies said he was overjoyed to scoop the prize and called on other dealers to increase their sales drive to stand a better chance of winning.
