Africa-Press – Tanzania. ZANZIBAR Second Vice President Mr Hemed Suleiman Abdulla will grace the upcoming Zanzibar Communication Excellence Awards (ZCEA), scheduled for this Thursday in the Isles.
The Institute of Public Relations in Tanzania (IPRT), the event’s organiser, confirmed that preparations are well underway, with logistical arrangements nearing completion.
Event Coordinator Mr Gaspar Kanijo provided an update on the judging process, saying, “We have received a large number of submissions and the panel is working diligently to evaluate them. We expect to complete the review by the end of this weekend.” The ZCEA will recognise outstanding achievements in both individual and institutional categories.
Winners will receive cash prizes, trophies and certificates. Individual awards will honour excellence in areas such as best communication officer, best journalist in print media, best journalist in electronic media, best journalist on social media and best journalist for social impact and humanitarian contribution.
Institutional awards will celebrate accomplishments in categories including best institutional website, best documentary of achievements, best social media management and best strategic communication policy and implementation plan.
“We’re thrilled by the high level of participation so far and anticipate a very competitive selection process,” Kanijo said, highlighting the strong interest in the awards.
The event is supported by prominent sponsors, including NMB Bank Plc, TIB Development Bank, Delaware Investments, JEFAG Group Limited, Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA), and Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA).
Additional support comes from the Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA), ZIC Takaful, National Social Security Fund (NSSF), People’s Bank of Zanzibar, Africa Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), and ORYX Energies.
The ZCEA is endorsed by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, Zanzibar Information Services (MAELEZO) and the Treasury Registrar of Zanzibar, underscoring its significance in promoting communication excellence across the region.
