Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE continental aviation and tourism sectors head for a new dawn after the climax of the AviaDev Africa 2025 Conference, a two-day event that gave airlines and airports a platform to share their responsibilities in serving the growing tourism.

The recently concluded AviaDev Africa 2025, managed expertly by Showtime Company of Zanzibar, has emerged as one of the most successful conferences in the aviation industry.

This event brought together over 500 delegates, including representatives from 36 airlines and tourism authorities from 46 countries, all eager to forge new partnerships and enhance flight connectivity across the African continent.

Mr. Ibrahim Mitawi, the CEO of Showtime Company, expressed his enthusiasm about the conference’s impact:

“AviaDev Africa 2025 has not only provided a platform for airlines and airports to connect but has also reinforced the critical role of tourism in route development. Our success lies in the collaborative spirit fostered during these two days.”

He said the conference featured a unique pre-arranged meeting system that facilitated over 1,200meetings, allowing participants to engage directly with potential partners in the African aviation community. This innovative approach ensured that delegates could maximize their time and efforts, leading to fruitful discussions and agreements.

Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, the President of Zanzibar, who highlighted the significance of the event, said:”Zanzibar has bold development and investment ambitions. Through AviaDev 2025, we can enhance flight connectivity, unlock new opportunities for growth, and foster collaboration globally. The Government of Zanzibar, through the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism and Zanzibar Airports Authority, looks forward to hosting this forum for delegates from different regions to come together and share experiences.”

This sentiment was echoed by other key officials, emphasizing the importance of integrating tourism with aviation strategies. The collaborative efforts showcased at AviaDev are vital for ensuring sustainable air services and economic growth in the region.

One of the standout messages from the conference was the crucial role of tourism in the route development process. Destinations that fail to align their aviation strategies with tourism risk losing valuable airline routes.

Ato Girma Wake, an industry expert, remarked: “It was an excellent and productive meeting. In two days, we achieved what we normally don’t achieve in a week.”

This highlights the efficiency and effectiveness of the networking opportunities provided by AviaDev, reinforcing the need for continuous engagement between tourism authorities and aviation stakeholders.

AviaDev Africa 2025 has set a new benchmark for collaboration and networking in the aviation industry. With its focus on building relationships and fostering growth, the conference has not only benefited the participants but has also positioned Zanzibar as a pivotal player in the global aviation landscape. As we look forward to future events, the insights and connections made during AviaDev will undoubtedly pave the way for enhanced air services and tourism development across Africa.
