Africa-Press – Tanzania. MEMBERS of the House of Representatives have asked the government to increase Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to at least 50m/- from the current 20m/-, saying the bursary has had positive impact in constituencies.
Legislators led by Prof Omar Faki Hamad proposed CDF increase to enable them effectively deliver on their campaign pledges and also meet the demands of their constituents.
Responding, Minister of State in the Second Vice-President’s Office, Policy, Coordination and Parliament Dr Khalid Salum Mohamed said the current financial situation amid the adverse impact of COVID-19 does not allow an increase of the funds.
