AfricaPress-Tanzania: MOSHI Catholic Diocese Bishop Ludovick Joseph Minde has urged Tanzanians to avoid fear and anxiety, and keep on praying as the world struggles to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic.
He also urged Tanzanians to continue taking all precaution measures provided by the government through its health experts, aimed at protecting themselves from the dangerous disease.
Bishop Minde (ALCPOSS) made the statement yesterday, while delivering his Easter greetings to the faithful, who attended the Easter Service, which was held at the Moshi-based Christ the King Church.
“The world is currently struggling to contain this dangerous disease, there are some who are disappointed when they see or hear people dying every day as the results of the pandemic, so much so that they say they are waiting for what will happen next.
This is a fear we should never entertain and instead, we should continue to pray to God, so he can lead us to end it,” he said.
The Clergy noted that it is true the world has been in a state of confusion regarding the disease but it should not be a reason for people to despair as there is only one who can change that trend whom he said was definitely His Almighty God.
“As we celebrate Easter this year, which is a celebration of victory over sin, then let us also believe we will win the war over this disease caused by the coronavirus by trusting in God, while at the same time, taking all the necessary health precautions,” he said.
Bishop Minde urged the faithful to take the opportunity of the Easter Feast to get rid of all evils in the community such as excessive alcoholism, abortion and illicit drug use so as to build with good morals and ethics starting at the family level.
During the Easter service, Bishop Minde also led the faithful in a special nineday Novena Prayer of God’s Mercy aimed at asking God’s Mercy to help the World end the challenge of Covid-19 pandemic, which he said had shaken the world.
