AfricaPress-Tanzania: Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi has been sworn-in as Zanzibar new president at the Amaan Stadium in the Island, earlier today.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Islands’ new Head of State said that his government will be built on the foundation of justice, accountability, transparency and equality to all.
Elaborating, Dr Hussein Mwinyi , who is the son of the Mainland Tanzania second president, told the gathering that his greatest aim would be to build a new Zanzibar for all citizens regardless of their political affiliations.
However, he thanked his predecessor, Dr. Ali Mohamed Shein whose term of office ended while handing him over power as well as Zanzibar’s Chief of Justice Omar Othman Makungu, saying they played a great role in advising him wish them well in their endevours.
