AfricaPress-Tanzania: TANZANIANS have been urged to believe in God when they face any challenge at any time and ignore social media rumours that aim at creating tension.
Pastor Dankton Rweikila of God Fire Church in Dar es Salaam said this yesterday in response to speculations on social media that some major hospitals were overwhelmed by a big number of Covid-19 patients.
He said the Almighty God was always able to take Tanzania through any difficult time, including the Covid-19.
“Tanzanians have reasons to believe because other nations still wonder how come Tanzania was not plagued by coronavirus last year as it had been projected. We saw the greatness of God,” Pastor Rweikila noted.
He criticised African countries that had opted for a western approach in dealing with the disease only because they were recipients of support from those western countries.
“We pray for Tanzania so that God may continue saving the nation. I speak about the word of God which has the ability to make everything possible,” he emphasised.
Pastor Rweikila added that it was something to thank God seeing that people had continued conducting their usual activities in the country while other countries were still implementing lockdowns.
“When other countries set aside budgets for fighting Covid-19, Tanzania plans to construct roads, water infrastructure and others,” he said. He added: “Let us not undermine God.
Remember last year, when Covid-19 emerged. The situation was really tense until God revealed himself to Tanzania,” he said.
He encouraged President John Magufuli to continue with his stand and courage against the disease because the Almighty God was his guidance.
