AfricaPress-Tanzania: THE Rukwa Regional Police Commander (RPC), Mr Justine Masejo, has warned peace disrupters who plan to incite chaos during campaigns to refrain from such evil deeds because law enforcers are well prepared and vigilant to tame them.
The RPC issued the warning during a press briefing session held on Friday, explaining that law enforcers have already laid down strategic plans to quell any violent acts.
“Rukwa citizens must ensure that the election campaigns and general election are both conducted peacefully,” he stressed. We (law enforcers) will not allow a few individuals to disrupt peace….this is a crystal clear message to every citizen in the region,” he emphasized.
He urged politicians to refrain from trading abusive, seditious sentiments during election campaigns but market their parties’ manifestos soberly.
The RPC further explained that politicians are allowed to address political campaign rallies by adhering to laws, regulations and guidelines put in place by the National Electoral Commission (NEC).
