AfricaPress-Tanzania: President Samia Suluhu Hassan has suspended Tanzania Port Authority Director General Engineer Deusdedit Kakoko pending for a thorough investigation as a CAG’s report submitted Sunday in Dodoma reveals misused of 3.6bn/- at the authority.
President Samia, who received both Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau and CAG reports in Dodoma Sunday, said although a special task was force formed by Prime Minister Majaliwa to probe the saga, only junior staff were held accountable hence she has decided to suspend the TPA czar.
Insisting on transparency and accountability, the President , equally, ordered CAG to cooperate with the Bank of Tanzania (BOT) to track all development funds released by the lander of the last resort from January to March, this year.
She further ordered a thorough investigation to all other public institutions appeared in the audit report in order to take an informed decisions.
