AfricaPress-Tanzania: Traditional healer Mayala Hinyali (32) is being held by the Katavi Regional Police Force on suspicion of abducting and living with a 16-year-old female student.
The girl is alleged to have joined the first form in January this year at Usevya Secondary School located in Mpimbwe District Council in Mlele District in the region.
Katavi Regional Police Commander, Benjamin Kuzaga has confirmed the arrest of the traditional healer on March 3, at his home in Kasekese Village in Tanganyika District Council.
Commander Kuzaga said the two were found living in a house as husband and wife and that the suspect would be brought to court to be a lesson to other people who have a habit of interrupting girls’ dreams and promoting child marriage.
