Peace building, conflict resolution, conflict prevention, whichever term you use should all dovetail towards what our Founding Father of the Nation, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere fought for and left behind to us.
Tanzanians want peace more than anything else, because politicians come and go with their sweet words. They will promise to implement their party’s manifestoes, right, some will promise big and small things, just to get votes, but the major thing as a voter, is to think of peace first.
As these politicians crisscross the country looking for votes, it is the responsibility of all people to see into it that the campaigns remain peaceful and law enforcers are not pushed to use unnecessary force to maintain it.
If anyone feels not satisfied with what a political party at a political rally is trying to sell, it is not necessary to heckle and call him/her names, and the best thing is to remain calm and give him/her time. This is because; no one can please all people all the times.
Tanzanians want mature politics and mature campaigns, not mudslinging and related epithets, because at the end of the day we shall remain all Tanzanians and want one in one way or another to develop the country.
Peace and security is an essential factor of human life. A peaceful and secure environment is critical to every society since it affects all aspects of economic and social development in the country, and is a necessary sin-qua non to the realisation of human rights.
These have direct effects on the creation of sound, competitive and equitable economic development, which ultimately have positive impact on the whole society.
Tanzanians should note that no country can develop or grow economically without peaceful coexistence among its population, and within its borders. The fastest developing nations are among those with the best security structures or architecture, and having peace and tranquility thriving within them. Period!
For instance, this has propelled national production, trade, and investments in all sectors of the economy, which all Tanzanians want regardless of one’s political stance.
