AfricaPress-Tanzania: AT LEAST 500 exhibitors are set to take part in the 3rd International Gold Exhibitions that will kick off tomorrow in Geita region.

Going by the theme ‘Minerals is economy, 2020 choose visionary leaders for development of the country’, the exhibitions will be graced by the Geita regional Commissioner Eng Robert Gabriel.

Speaking to the africa-press yesterday the vice chairperson of the exhibitions organizing committee Ms Rachel Mwera said the region has already started to receive exhibitors and other participants.

“There is an increase in the number of exhibitors from 300 who were recorded three weeks ago to the current 500,”she said.

Ms Mwera added that this year’s exhibitions have been sponsored by among others 30 small scale miners with Geita Gold Mining Limited (GGML) being the main sponsor.

She said, the exhibitions would offer a platform for small scale entrepreneurs in the mining sector to sell their products as well as knowledge sharing with their counterparts.

Recently Eng Gabriel said the exhibitions will also feature business clinics, where government officials would attend to respond to all queries of stakeholders for the interest of the sector.

Being the country’s hub for gold extraction, the region has a total of 9 mineral marketing centres with five of them being located in Geita Town, adding that they have majorly contributed in boosting the area’s revenue.

“Exhibitors will be given an opportunity to tour the Geita Gold Mine (GGM) and other attractive tourism sites for refreshment, besides exploring the nature of the region,” he noted, adding that they expect to receive more guests from within and outside the country.
