DSE TURNOVER JUMPS TO 22.6BN/-

THE Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) turnover rose to 22.64bn/- last week from 2.04bn/- of the previous period with the Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL) and CRDB emerging top market movers.

According to Zan Securities Limited Weekly Wrap-Ups, TBS was the top mover with 70.6 per cent of the total market turnover while CRDB moved 29.2 per cent.

During the reference period, CRDB counter gained 5.26 per cent to close at 100/- while NICO counter dropped 2.86 per cent to end the week at 170/-. “Equity market performance echoed our last week sentiment, where the turnover surged and the domestic market performed well,” stated the report.

“We do not expect the feat to continue next week, however, we do believe the market is gaining a sort of balance going forward,” it said.

The Total Market capitalisation decreased by 0.60 per cent to 17.25tri/- while the domestic market capitalisation gained 0.14 per cent to close at 9.02tri/-

The key benchmark indices closed the week with the Tanzania share index (TSI) at 3,435.94 points, 0.14 per cent up whereas All Share Index (DSEI) increased by 0.60 per cent at 2,077.95 points.

The sector indices ended the week under review with industrial and allied index (IA) closed at 4,749.95 points same as the week before. Bank, Finance and investment index gained 0.81 per cent to close at 2,023.12 points.

Commercial Services Index closed at 2,369.12 points, same as week before.
