AfricaPress-Tanzania: MORE than 200 manufacturers will on Monday meet with the Minister of Industry and Trade, Geoffrey Mwambe to discuss issues, which affects them.
The Executive Director of the Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI), Leodgar Tenga said in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday that CTI has been working hard to provide its members with opportunities to engage with the government in improving the performance of the industrial sector in the country.
He said, once again, CTI wishes to commend the government for its readiness to listen and dialogue with industrialists on issues that affect industries development, adding: “This meeting will provide an opportunity for the manufacturers to meet and discuss with the minister and other government officials and deliberate on issues affecting the industrial sector. “…ranging from the necessary infrastructure to the required regulatory framework that enable local manufactures to be competitive in the domestic and international markets.”
He added the consultative meeting is an important avenue for the CTI members to exchange ideas and views with the government and reach a consensus on some essential issues, which will enhance industrial development in the country.
However, he asked stakeholders including the non CTI members to attend the meeting and exchange views with the new Minister for Industry and Trade and other government officials.
