AfricaPress-Tanzania: NMB bank recently donated 180 bed sheets and several buckets for hand washing valued at 11m/- to Dodoma Regional Referral Hospital to assist it enhance hygiene and cater for its patients.
Dodoma based NMB Central Zone Manager, Nsolo Mlozi said in this year, the region is leading in getting their support with over 120m/- that was used to purchase different items.
“Dodoma City is growing very fast and that made us also to release the support in efforts to support the government cater for them, especially pregnant mothers and children at the institution’s Wards,” Mr Mlozi said.
Mr Mlozi noted that as a result of Dodoma becoming the capital city and witnessing an increase in number of people migrating to it, and hence, they must be catered for.
Receiving the donations, Dodoma Referral Hospital, Regional Medical Officer, Dr Best Magoma, on behalf of their Regional Commissioner praised the bank for the assistance saying the support would help them hospitalize and accommodate patients, who would seek their treatments.
The hospital’s Medical Doctor In-charge, Dr Ibenzi Ernest, appealed to other financial institutions and stakeholders to turn out enmasse and support them towards purchasing items they lack to provide service to the sick. Also the bank donated 50 desks worth 5.0m/- to Mnadani Primary School.
The donation was given based on the school central location in the city and a request from its management that it faces shortage of the desks to keep pace with many pupils longing to join it.
