AfricaPress-Tanzania: TEN Tigo Pesa subscribers won 1m/- each on Friday during a weekly draw conducted by Tigo Tanzania as part of celebrations to mark the telecommunications company’s 10th anniversary of the mobile money platform’s operations.
Speaking during a handover event held in Dar es Salaam, Tigo’s Segment Manager, Mary Rutta the cash prizes are part of the ongoing ‘Sherehekea pesa’ promo to mark 10 years of Tigo Pesa in the country.
“In the main campaign, every customer will win various bonuses while Tigo Pesa wakalas who invest and put more effort in making sure customers are getting reliable services all the time, also get rewarded,” Rutta said.
She pointed out that the telco has allocated over 200m/- for the entire campaign with 10 grand draw winners taking home 10m/- each at the climax of the exercise in the next 10 weeks. “The more a Tigo customer uses Tigo Pesa to transact the more the more chances they get to win cash prizes,” she noted while urging Tigo Peas subscribers to pay for purchases of goods and services, utility bills and other government fees through the platform.
Last week’s 10 winners include; Eliud Chambanage, Aron Anatoly, Asha Bura, Kwizera Ndabise, Pavin Rwezaula, Jose Kanene, Annatheresia Clemence, Regina Balama, Ayub Ndaliko and Flora Kawa who are based in various parts of the country.
