AfricaPress-Tanzania: CHAMA Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), has said that if every leader in government fulfills his responsibilities and does justice, the challenges facing the people will end.
CCM General Secretary Daniel Chongolo said the party would not have a simile with leaders and executives in government and in CCM, who are not responsible.
He said this while concluding a working visit to the districts of Mbeya region and said the problem is that some leaders are just ‘hitting four’ and leaving people suffering.
He said this after the people complained that they were facing nuisances including lack of water, medicine, crop markets, electricity, lack of classrooms and desks.
Chongolo said if every guarantor in the party and the government fulfilled its responsibilities, many of the people’s problems would be solved.
“People are suffering from a lack of quality services, but we have only hit four, we cannot have a government that is not responsible for resolving people’s grievances,” said Chongolo.
He told the audience, including government officials and experts, led by Mbeya Regional Commissioner Juma Homera, that in addressing and encouraging each other on the solution to the problems facing the people, there must be a common understanding.
“We are moving slowly now, but as the days go by, those who are hindering us must get rid of them,” warned the CCM Chief Executive.
Chongolo said for officials and public servants who are accustomed to ignoring directives issued to relieve citizens of grievances, they should continue with the practice.
He said there are those who think the instructions are a slap in the face, but he and his secretariat, they mean.
