AfricaPress-Tanzania: Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Special Seat legislator Martha Umbulla has died in Mumbai, India where she was receiving treatments.
Speaker Job Ndugai has confirmed the death of the MP, saying that she passed away January 21, 2021 at HCG Hospital in Mumbai.
“I am shocked and saddened to hear of Honorable Martha Umbulla’s passing. I offer my condolences to the family of deceased, relatives, honorable MPs and Manyara Region residents…” said Mr Ndugai in a statement issued by the Parliament today.
The statement added that Bunge Office is collaborating with the family of the deceased in arranging the burial of the MP.
According to the Parliament website, since 2005, Martha had already made a total of 20 contributions, asked 13 primary questions and 25 supplementary questions.
