CAG REPORT: PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS PAID OVER 29BN/- OUT OF THEIR SPENDING PLANS

AfricaPress-Tanzania: Some public institutions and ministries made payments of over 29bn/- which were out of their respective spending plans, the Controller and Auditor General (CAG)’s report reveals.

Presenting his findings to reporters in Dodoma, Thursday, CAG Charles Kichere said, in the auditing exercise conducted, it was revealed that some institutions as well as ministries made payments for the activities that were not in their calendar.

Mentioning some of the institutions that were implicated on the matter, tje CAG named Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS), Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA), Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Ministries in this CAG’s list are Ministry of Works, Ministry of Health and the Prime Minister’s Office

“In this year’s audit I found that payments of more than 29bn/-   were made out of budget. Some of the institutions that made the payments are TANROADS, TAWA, TARURA, TIA, UNESCO, Ministry of Works, Ministry of Health, Office of the Prime Minister,” said CAG Kichere.
