AfricaPress-Tanzania: OVER 90 per cent of all credit facilities provided through the Zanzibar Economic Empowerment Fund were used profitably, the House of Representatives has been told.
Minister of State in the President’s Office, Labour, Economy and Investment Mudrik Ramadhan Soraga told the House that usually entrepreneurs, who received loans from the fund, operated profitably because loan officers from the fund visited and advised them on appropriate business running.
He was responding to Ms Salma Mussa Bilal (Special Seats-CCM) who wanted to know the impact of the fund on small entrepreneurs.
The minister said after disbursing the loans, loan issuance officers worked closely with the beneficiaries to ensure proper running of businesses and appropriate pricing of the products traded.
