“It has come to a point where the ethics of some of our students who graduate from university and then come to work in the hospital have become ethical challenges, disrespect, dress and lack of work discipline, and that is why I have asked registrars to be here to emphasize ethics. for graduates “he said.

He said, in time, guidelines should be developed on how to dress and use language, responsible discipline and behavior which will help improve morals in front of everyone regardless of age or gender in health care facilities.

“The government has been receiving a lot of complaints about the ethical problem faced by some of our few staff members which is contrary to our professionalism in providing health services to the people,” he said.

Professor Makubi urged the experts, especially the teachers of the college, to use their professionalism by appearing in the community to provide education on ways to protect themselves against infectious and non-communicable diseases to build a healthier society.

He instructed health universities to look at how to emphasize leadership, accountability and governance for health sector staff who could later become district, regional and hospital chief physicians.

“The issue of health governance in terms of leadership and accountability is a policy priority for this year after discovering that some institutions and hospitals are stuck because of poor, irresponsible, ineffective, patriotic and lack of unity among staff,” he said. .

He said the government will continue to provide scholarships to these professionals to improve services to the public by providing specialized services locally, and reducing medical costs that would otherwise be spent on medical treatment abroad.
