AfricaPress-Tanzania: Zanzibar President, Hussein Mwinyi has urged citizens in the Isles to continue implementing the visions and strategies of the late President John Magufuli and remain united during this difficult time that the country is going through.
Addressing thousands of mourners who gathered at the Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar on Tuesday to pay tribute to the fallen head of state, he said there are a lot of things people can learn and imitate from the life of the late Magufuli both theoretically and practically.
Elaborating, Dr. Mwinyi said the fallen president has left a great impact in both Tanzania and the world, which means people can learn from his hard work and how fought for human rights.
“We will remember him for being an advocate of the weak and how he was proud of his country and his African continent” said President Mwinyi.
Dr Mwinyi poured praise on the late Magufuli for his determination in maintaining the unity of Tanzania as well as supporting and protecting the Zanzibar revolution.
“We will remember him for his determination to maintain the unity of Tanzania as well as his support and protection of the Zanzibar revolution of 1964” he added.
He further promised to cooperate with the newly sworn President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, saying that he has great faith in her.
