AfricaPress-Tanzania: ILEMELA Parliamentary Candidate, Dr Angelina Mabula (CCM), has promised to improve a business environment for fishermen and traders if she is elected.

She made the commitment while addressing residents at Mihama Grounds during her campaign. She promised to set aside 250m/- for the improvement of Kayenze, Igombe and Mihama fish markets.

Dr Mabula also promised to set aside 50m/- for the construction of fish ponds to improve the fisheries sub-sector.

Commenting on land disputes in Mihama, she said she was aware that many people in Mihama were demanding compensation in their areas so she would continue following up the matter to ensure they were compensated.

Dr Mabula further promised that if elected again she would construct a health centre in Kitangiri Ward.

According to Dr Mabula, when she took the seat in 2015, Mihama residents who had access to electricity were 35 per cent only, but the percentage had gone up to 75.

In education, she said they had succeeded in constructing 89 classrooms at Kitangiri Secondary and Mihama Primary schools and they had also provided 80 desks worth 6m/- to the schools.

She further promised they would also build a laboratory at Mwinuko Secondary School which would cost 30m/- and a teacher’s house at the school worth 15m/-.

Kitangiri Councillor Candidate Donard Protas (CCM) said he would work with Dr Mabula to construct ditches along Mihama-Kitangiri Road.
