USA has been impressed by President John Magufuli’s promise that this year’s general election will be free, fair and transparent.
A press statement issued by USA Embassy in Dar es Salaam on Friday (January 31, 2020), said the embassy has also encouraged by the President’s invitation to international election observers.
“We welcome an election where all citizens and candidates from all parties a able to gather peacefully, express their opinions and campaign on equal basis,” reads part of the statement.
The embassy also urges rapid and transparent registration of voters, creation of independent commissions and the early accreditation of credible long and short-term national and international observers.
