AfricaPress-Tanzania: The Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Damas Ndumbaro said that aviation and shipping stakeholders are very important people in the tourism industry as many foreign visitors use these vessels.
Ndumbaro made the remarks today in Morogoro region while opening a Stakeholders Meeting on the Provision of Air Transport and Shipping Services.
“This sector is very important because no foreign tourist comes here without your presence which is why I am here as an indicator to recognize the contribution you make to the tourism industry” said Ndumbaro.
In addition, Ndumbaro said that the meeting is a good opportunity for the Ministry to recognize the various challenges faced by these stakeholders so that they can be addressed something that will lead the tourism industry to make great strides.
The Chairman of the Tanzania Airlines Owners Association (TAOA), Lathifa Sykes has said that large aircraft from various countries around the world cannot transport tourists to protected areas so when they arrive in the country the responsibility was yours.
