AfricaPress-Tanzania: President Samia Suluhu Hassan Monday led Tanzanians, African leaders and diplomats from different corners of the world at the state funeral of the departed Tanzania’s iconic leader, Dr John Magufuli who passed away on Wednesday, last week.
According to the Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa, a total of nine African heads of state, two Vice Presidents and PMs from various countries have tuned up for the event which is taking place at Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma Capital City.
Thanking all mourners attended the event; Mr Majaliwa recognised the presence of President Emerson Mnangagwa (Zimbabwe), President Uhuru Kenyatta (Kenya), President Filipe Nyusi (Mozambique), President Lazarus Chakwera (Malawi) and President Cyril Ramaphosa (South Africa).
Others are President Edgar Lungu (Zambia), Felix Tshisekedi (Democratic Republic of Congo), Azali Assoumani (Comoro), Nangolo Mbumba (Namibia Vice-President) and Bazombanza Prosper (Burundi Vice President).
The neighboring Rwanda has been represented by its Prime Minister Édouard Ngirente.
